Sunday Bliss

What a gorgeous day it was to be outside today. Around 11 AM I took the dog and headed for Tower Grove Park in my Newtons. No MP3 Player or other music, just a man and his dog. Pauli was loving it for the first few miles, and as usual, he started to lag by mile 3. I stopped back home (4 miles), dropped off the dog, refilled my water bottle, changed into my Pearl Izumi shoes and headed back out.

The first quarter mile felt strange in my Pearl Izumis because they don't have the padding in the forefoot that the Newton do, but I felt good and just kept chugging along. I made it another two turns around the park, making it about 10.5 miles and walked from the park back home as a cool-down. It was just absolutely gorgeous.

It was such a great day that a few hours later, I loaded up Isaac in the backpack carrier, leashed up the dog again and we headed back out for another 45 minute - 1 hour walk. After about 30 minutes, Isaac fell asleep in the saddle, but he just loves that backpack carrier. We feel blessed to have this wonderful weather in January and happy to have some boy-time.
