Weekend Training

Yesterday started with a solid 50+ minute swim at the YMCA and progressed to a pre-noon "brick" with Jeremy. Patrick joined us for the~1 hour ride and we averaged about 20.5 mph up and down Des Peres. Jeremy and I managed a quick transition and hit the pavement for 30 minutes of running in the humidity and the sun - blah. We knocked off about 3.5 miles and walked the last little strectch back to his place. The weather gave me a wicked headache and I lost most of my afternoon, but I was functional by dinner time and Patrick and Missy came over to watch the little man while Jessica and I went out to dinner and Cirque du Soleil.

Today got off to a late start, with a 50 minute yoga routine with Rodney Yee (sorely needed - no pun intended) and about an hour in the pool. Too much stuff to do around the house in the yard, so no run or cycle, but the weather looks good and an early bedtime could mean a ride into work. With the rest of the week looking like rain off and on, it might be my only chance.

It looks like the Memphis is May triathlon isn't going to happen for me. Jessica is heading to a wedding and I don't want to go by myself. I had hoped to snag a carpool, but I've been strking out on all sides. Too bad, it's a great event and I'm in decent shape for an Olympic distance. I'll have to start setting my sites on Racine and see if anything else rears its opportunistic head.
