Columbia, MO MS BIKE TOUR

Just a few short days later, the Monsanto team converged on Columbia, MO for the annual MS Bike Tour. Isaac and I arrived mid-evening on Friday and checked into the hotel. Saturday would be an early start and it was a toss up who was more bleary-eyed as we made our way to the start line in the morning. As far as I could, we were the only folks riding with a trailer, and Isaac was in good spirits after having his morning banana (the kid is CRAZY about bananas).

Here's a little video at the start line of the Mavericks.

We were interviewed at the start line and I even explained that TECHNICALLY, this was Isaac's second MS Bike Tour (having missed last year) because two years ago he was in the womb when Jessica road. Unfortunately, we weren't quoted, but here is a story about the ride from the reporter who took our picture and asked us questions: ARTICLE.

Unfortunately, our video camera ran out of batteries or maybe it was just a user error, but basically, we didn't get any more video footage. Major BUMMER. We did pay for this photo, but it fails to show Isaac's face - just the carriage.

Isaac was AMAZING... only crying for about 5 minutes in the entire 5 hours and 20 minutes that it took us to complete the 75 mile route. I probably cried more (around mile 60 - 65) than he did!

At the end of the ride (as well as rest stop #4 - go Boyd FAMILY and especially Katie Boyd and Angie, both who were super with Isaac) we were very fotrunate to have some help from fellow Mavericks so that I could refuel, get a massage and reload the car. At the end of the day, even Isaac was wiped out!
