Headed out with Pauli with the intention of going 4 miles with him, dropping him back at the house and then heading out for another 4 miles. Unfortunately he wasn't handling the heat well, so at 1.5 miles, we walked a little and turned around. Still, we managed the 3 miles in about 28 minutes or 9:00 pace (average HR 165). I turned around and did another 4 miles, still at the 9:00 pace (average HR 170) - 35 minutes; total 63 minutes for 7 miles.
Prior to heading out, I weighed in at 182.8 and after at 179.6, so even though I consumed over 16 ounces of gatorade, I still lost too much in the way of fluids. I just don't manage the heat very well. Good to know your weaknesses! I'd really like to be at 165 by the Racine race in late July, so I need to lose about 1 pound per week.
