Frustrated!

It's Saturday morning and I have been fighting with my Garmin Foretrex 201 for the past 45 minutes. For those of you not familiar with this GPS (global positioning system) device that is supposed to track speed, distance, etc., it can be, when functioning, a helpful training tool to ensure that I'm not overdoing it or slacking to much. Anyway, I'm in the "intense" part of my training and had hoped to be a bit more precise by using this instrument. Instead, I've just wasted a ton of time and finally got so fed up that I wrote the following note to Garmin customer support:

I am emailing after spending 45 minutes trying to get my Foretrex 201 to work.
The battery is full and it acquires the signal, but it won't allow me to change pages or enter or anything else. Several weeks ago, I used this unit without a problem. I have allowed it to sit outside to acquire a new signal for 30 minutes, and the signal strength is strong, but every time I press "page" it starts to re-acquire. I have tried resetting the device without any improvement in performance. This unit was returned last year for failures / problems and it has had marginal performance since it was "fixed".

Having specifically requested this unit several years ago as a gift, I am very frustrated with the sub-par performance of this Garmin product and can not recommend it. I run 20x more often without the Foretrex than with it, because it just doesn't work reliably! Half the time that I put it on, it doesn't work, so I've just stopped trying - it's not work the frustration.
Now, I'm going for run to burn off this steam!

Let's see if they can make an unsatisfied customer, satisfied. It's just so sad, because conceptually, it's a great idea, they just haven't figured out how to make it work consistently.
